Meet Sherry Yard
Chef Sherry Yard has earned multiple accolades throughout her career including three James Beard Awards for Outstanding Pastry Chef of the Year and Best Baking Book for her cookbook debut, The Secrets of Baking. In 2014, she was inducted into the James Beard Foundation’s “Who’s Who of Food & Beverage in America.”
Originally from Brooklyn, Yard began her career at the Rainbow Room followed by stints at Montrachet and Tribeca Grill. She later moved to California, where she established herself as pastry chef at San Francisco’s Campton Place followed by a move to Los Angeles to work with Wolfgang Puck. Yard served as executive pastry chef for Puck for nearly 20 years, opening new restaurants and mentoring a generation of chefs. Her desserts were a staple at the Academy Awards Governor’s Ball, the Grammy Awards and the Emmy Awards.
Yard serves as Chief Operating Officer, Restaurant Division for iPic Entertainment, overseeing restaurant and concession concepts nationwide. That includes City Perch Kitchen + Bar, where she channels her passion for local food, fine wine and easy socializing into this exciting concept.
